Daily Itinerary
  Day 1 Saturday, July 16 Hotel Altiplanico   San Pedro de Atacama, Chile  
   
Greeting in the Calama Airport by Kuyay Travel Tour Host & transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, an oasis at the north end of the Atacama Salt Flats, a vast saline lake. We will check into the Hotel Altiplanico for the next two nights and then take a walking tour around the village in the afternoon. Then late in the afternoon we will drive out of town, hike some sand dunes and visit the Moon Valley for a unique sunset experience.
 
  Day 2 Sunday, July 17 Hotel Altiplanico   San Pedro de Atacama, Chile  (B)
 
This morning we will take an archeological tour of a fort dating back to the 12th century, Pukara de Quitor, built on a strategic location over a river. We will then return to San Pedro for some free time to enjoy the area. Later in the afternoon, we will meet again to visit the Altiplanic Lagoons where we could be able to see the 3 types of flamingoes endemic to this area. Then we will visit the village of Toconao before returning to San Pedro.
  Day 3 Monday, July 18 Park Hotel   Calama, Chile  (B)
 
This morning we will leave very early for our trip to the Tatio Geysers. At an altiture of 4,300 meters it is the world's highest geyser field. In the azure clarity of the altiplano, the sight of the steaming fumaroles at sunrise is unforgettable. On our way back to San Pedro we will have a relaxing rest of the day at the Puritama Hot Springs, then we will return to San Pedro and transfer back to Calama to spend the night before our early flight the next day.
  Day 4 Tuesday, July 19 Costa del Sol Airport Hotel   Lima, Peru  (B)
   

This morning we will have a flight to Antofagasta or Iquique for our connection to Lima in Peru . We will have a short transfer to our hotel for the night, then you will have the rest of the afternoon free to get ready for our next adventure.

  Day 5 Wednesday, July 20 Aranwa Hotel   Sacred Valley, Peru  (B, L)
Flight to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley . On the way we will visit the nearby ruins of Sacsahuaman, Puca-Pucara, Kenko and Tambomachay. Afterwards we will visit the colorful Indian Market of Pisac, famous for its Mass and market. The Mass is attended by the 'mayors' of the neighboring villages, complete in typical dress and carrying their traditional 'varayoc' or staff of office. We will also enjoy the colorful Indian market before returning to our hotel for the night.
  Day 6 Thursday, July 21 Hotel Casa Andina Private Collection   Cusco, Peru  (B, L)
 
This morning we will have a transfer to Ollanta station to take the train to the fabulous mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival there will be a private guide to take us to the ruins. Afternoon train back to Cusco & transfer to hotel.
  Day 7 Friday, July 22 Hotel Casa Andina Private Collection   Cusco, Peru  (B)
   
After breakfast we will enjoy a city tour of this magnificent city, a blend of Inca and Spanish cultures, visiting the Korikancha or Temple of the Sun and the Cathedral, continuing from there to the nearby ruins of Tambomachay (Inca fountains), Puca-Pucara (the Red Fortress), Kenko (sacred site) and finally Sacsahuaman Fortress. Rest of day free in Cuzco .
  Day 8 Saturday, July 23 Lima and Home or Extension
   
This morning you will have a transfer to the airport for your flight back to Lima either to extend your trip or to make your international connection home.
