Medium-Adventure Hosted Tours

These are new hosted tours for 2010/11,
geared for the more active traveler.

If you are in reasonably fit condition
and enjoy filling your lungs with fresh air
while in the middle of pristine landscapes,
these hosted tours are right for you.

Kayak in the fjords of Southern Chile
alongside the glacier-rich ice field,
camping out as the Southern Cross constellation protects you from above.

Hike the famous "W" inside Torres del Paine National Park, a 45 kilometer trail
system shaped like a "W", as it makes
its way around the huge granite massifs.

Walk the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu,
also 45 kilometers long, half of which is on the original Inca steps. The perfect way to enter Machu Picchu, providing a more historical and natural perspective.

Get your feet moving in El Chalten,
the trekking capital of Argentina
, and
hike near Mounts Fitz Roy, Torre, and
other granite massifs in the area.

Ice-Trek on the Perito Moreno Glacier,
one of the most active glaciers in the world, and one of the few still growing.

Mountain Bike in San Pedro de
Atacama
in Chile's Altiplano. This is
the driest desert on the planet, yet
full of acheological and natural surprises.

Kayaking & Trekking in Torres del Paine  click for itinerary   The Torres, or Towers on the "W" circuit
The "W" circuit is the classic, best-known route for trekking in Torres del Paine. It goes from the spectacular views from Glaciar Grey on the western side of the Paine massif, to the scenic view at the base of the Torres on the eastern side. Between them lies the Valle del Frances, a beautiful green valley surrounded by sheer walls of granite.
